What’s Next for Tales from The Floating Vagabond?

Well, that was an exhilarating conclusion to the year! After being unable to work on the game for most of fall 2023 (thanks, COVID **eyeroll**), I finally corralled my brain cells into some semblance of working order and spent the last week before Christmas in Design Frenzy Mode to get the second edition of Tales from The Floating Vagabond up on DriveThruRPG. I didn’t even think it had properly gone live and was shocked to wake up the following morning to sales!

Holy hellbeans, you guys are really something, you know that? Lee would have been so thrilled at the tremendous outpouring of love for this funny little RPG. We’re over Phobos knowing that y’all love this game like we do.

A lot of you fans have been asking us what’s next, so in addition to putting a FAQ on the website, here’s what we have in mind:

Coming Soon:

  • We will produce a print edition in the first half of the year. We’re just waiting for everyone to submit corrections and errata so we can fix them beforehand.
  • We’re also going to be creating a Bartender’s screen.
  • We have plans to release at least two new sourcebooks for TF2V this year. If there’s a particular adventure or sourcebook you’d like to see, please join our Discord server and post your idea in the #requests channel.
  • We haven’t decided yet if we will be tabling at any upcoming conventions, but will announce it here when we do.

Cheers!

* And what do we call you, anyway? I doubt anyone reading this wants to be called "Talesies," "Floaters," or gods forbid, "Vaggies." "Regulars" sounds too generic and "Barflies" rather crude for your collective and commendably sophisticated style of humor. Then again, I'm the one who coined the term "Vagaverse," so maybe the real lesson here is "don't let Kira name things."
